The extraction point for radon gas mitigation via depressurization is located in the corner of this basement. The radon gas is pulled from beneath the slab of the home and sent out through the pipes via the exhaust fan.
We sealed this sump pit with Plexiglas to prevent radon gas from entering.
The depressurization system requires an exhaust fan either on the outside of the home or in the interior attic and out through the roof. This homeowner opted for the exterior option with a soffit penetration.
This customer had a Waterguard that needed sealed around the walls of his basement. We installed cleanspace full walls of unfinished basement area to seal and prevent radon gas from entering.
Doug was planning on doing this job himself, however, after realizing there were holes in his foundation for Waterguard he figured he should call us out to take care of it. We installed cleanspace, a radon gas barrier, on all the walls with anchors in Doug's unfinished area of his basement with full wall cleanspace and the walls without anchors got 32" of cleanspace. We then installed an extraction point for the depressurization radon mitigation system and sealed the sump pit with plexiglass.
