Radon Concerns After Diagnosis After a family member was diagnosed with lung cancer, the client became more aware of environmental factors that could contribute to health risks. A friend mentioned radon, so they conducted a test in their home. The results showed elevated radon levels, which left them alarmed. Wasting no time, they arranged for a radon mitigation system to be installed. Post-installation tests showed significantly lower radon levels, providing the family with comfort that they had taken an important step to reduce future risks.

This client was referred by their neighbor who was our regular. Anything related to home maintenance they really tried to get in touch with us. It was a little challenge for the team as due to the multiple renovations in the home, they can't access slab on grade or any crawlspace to work with. The team explained to the owner that they would have to clear out the one accessible crawlspace to start the installation and for any future projects that would link to it. The owner agreed and installation was smooth as a baby. Homeowner was really happy how it turned out!

This client started working from home and wanted to remodel his basement into his personal office and soon to be 'man cave'. While he is starting, he wanted to make sure he is protected since he spends most of his time there. He booked with Radon Defense Midwest for a radon mitigation installation and he was very happy with his decision!

Renee and Dan plan to sell their house and move in a year and wanted to get the Radon levels down in preparation for the sale. We sealed all cracks that Radon could seep through, installed a one extraction-point radon mitigation system with an exterior fan and muffler. They were also happy for healthier air to breathe for themselves in the meantime. 

This very concerned wife decided to get a radon mitigation system since her husband has cancer, but not lung cancer -- still, they wanted to get this underlying concern fixed to prevent any damages it can cause in the future. They requested their test kit and it came back with high levels. We advised them about the installation and tried our best to make it smooth while the husband is resting. We added BEZ to the mix for better filtering and ventilation. 

The home needed a 3 point system to get two basement chambers and the slab addition on east side of house. The client understands that there is no warranty on levels. There's a dirt cellar under the front of house that they blocked off and another potential inaccessible crawlspace on back of house. The team added a Breathe EZ filter and will need brackets to keep upright. The homeowner is a cat lover, so we expected cat stuff everywhere. 

This client was a farmer, and his home was really difficult to find, even a GPS can't detect it. He built the house on 2006 and it has a poured foundation with an unfinished basement with a lot of stuff stored down there. The house had an elevated access point that is large opening into crawlspace that is 11'x12' and has large gravel over dirt. The crawlspace is about 3' tall inside, so won't be an issue. The owner is unsure of levels and hasn't tested in 10 years but said it was high then - we provided him with a charcoal test kit. The homeowner insisted to seal the floor cracks as well. The installation went quick and smooth!

The crew finds joy in the more difficult designs for mitigation systems. We can handle simple, and more complex designs based on what a home needs. We were able to handle this customers complex design to make sure their radon levels are as low as possible.

Bill and Sharon's son recently rejoined them in their family home, moving into the basement. Knowing their son would spend a significant amount of time there, the Papillion couple began to worry about radon levels in their basement. Sure enough, a test exposed high radon levels. With Bill's retirement right around the corner and Sharon's health history, the family decided radon mitigation was best for them all. Homeowners often find out about radon for the first time when their home is inspected as part of a sale or check-in from a housing authority group. For Sebrina and Arjan, it was a tribal council that tested their home and recommended radon mitigation. The Winnebago homeowners found relatively love levels, ranging from 4.1 pCi/L to 5p Ci/L, but wanted to lower them as much as possible.
