The homeowner thought it would be a challenge for our team to create a crawl space for the radon mitigation to be built but there is no location or limitation of space that our team cannot handle! 

We contacted Radon Defense Midwest regarding bad air quality and constant clean up of dust in our home. After consulting with Radon Defense Midwest, we decided the best option would be to get a duct cleaning project going. The difference has been amazing. After 15 years in their home, this family was shocked when a radon test revealed fluctuating levels between 10–25 pCi/L—despite having a passive system. Their children’s bedrooms are in the lower level, so health concerns were top of mind. The homeowner had already taken initiative by adding a fan to the passive system, but discovered it wasn’t addressing two key radon chambers in the home’s large rear addition.   Iowa Radon Defense stepped in to design a two-point mitigation system for the addition, along with an ERV for improved air circulation. With thoughtful placement and homeowner collaboration, this project reflects what’s possible when experience, concern, and the right team come together.

Why do you need to install a radon mitigation if you have low levels? The client had aging parents living with them and wanted to ensure the air quality in their home was as safe as possible. After researching radon, they decided to test their home and found low levels but still wanted to do prevention as they are concerned about the potential health risks to their parents, they opted to install a mitigation system. The customer felt a sense of relief knowing they had taken an important step to safeguard their family’s health, especially for their more vulnerable loved ones. This is a big decision that leads to a great investment to health!

Tucked away at the bottom of a steep gravel drive, a beautiful two-story log cabin overlooking the lake was experiencing elevated radon levels of 11.6. With no warranty on levels and a fully finished basement, the homeowner took proactive steps to ensure the safety of the space. A single sub-slab extraction point was installed in the HVAC room, with careful planning around washer/dryer placement to maximize effectiveness. The system was routed discreetly—cored through the poured wall and run behind exposed exterior logs to preserve the cabin’s rustic charm. Though no one was home during the installation, everything was carefully coordinated. The homeowner also invested in a 20x25 BreatheEZ filter and UVC light system for their primary residence in Des Moines.

A call of worry from this couple needed our help as they were worried to be poisoned by radon. We educated them the signs and symptoms and so far they weren't experiencing any of it. They decided to get their own radon mitigation system to prevent any health issues in the future. They know that it has been all over the news since a few years ago so they wanted to make sure it does not happen to them.

Andrew did a great job with this 2 system mitigation install. The customer's levels were at a 33 when they tested!! Now they can have peace of mind knowing that their home and indoor air quality is much safer after the install was done!! 

John did a great job installing an exterior mitigation system for our customer as well as encapsulating a crawl space to help lower their radon levels in the home. Our customer was wanting to make their home as safe as possible for them and their family. 

This customer bought a new home and was concerned about their radon levels being at a 8.9. Andrew was able to get in there and install a radon mitigation system that will help this customer lower his radon levels and make the home safe.

The crew did a great job with this customer's encapsulation. They recently lost their spouse and wanted to take care of the radon levels in their home to make it as safe as possible. Our crew was able to lift that worry by encapsulating this crawl space giving them overall better indoor air quality.
