There is almost no insulation behind their siding, so if the pipe even comes close to the house, there is a vibration/noise. We explained to them how it was and was very disappointed with the previous mitigation company they worked with. We drafted a plan where the team managed to strap the pipe above the fan with J hooks to help with the noise. It was a nice experience since customer has knowledge in construction he had better hooks provided - he didn't ask for a discount either which was cool. Everything went well and he was happy!

Installing a Radon Mitigation System When this client learned their home had high radon levels, they were worried. Radon Mitigation in George, Iowa Solomon and his wife are a young couple that bought the house this past year. It was an old house with brick foundation and radon levels of 8.5. The installation will start with a sub slab extraction point next to plumbing stack on back wall, route out side of house and core through wall, route up. They wanted everything to be prepared before they move on to their next chapter in life. 

After putting off mitigation for some time, this homeowner in a brick walk-out ranch was ready to take action. With radon levels at 14 pCi/L, it was clear that a more effective and permanent solution was needed. There was no sump pit, only exterior drain tile and pea gravel beneath the slab, plus a hidden passive pipe that proved unreliable. To deliver reliable radon abatement, we designed a 2-point sub-slab extraction system along the north wall, spaced 15 feet apart (disregarding the outdated job drawing). The system will exit through the block wall and brick, with a fan and muffler installed on the side of the home, carefully routed around the soffit for a clean finish.   They currently operate an ERV system with geothermal HVAC, which we encouraged them to run more consistently. A custom Breathe EZ (29x25) unit with L brackets is part of the plan, replacing the awkward filter stack they currently use (16x25x2 + 14x25x2). Sealed 25 feet of visible slab cracks near the HVAC system and finish with duct cleaning and standard fogging; creating cleaner air and real radon reduction.
